552 km² of diversity — from rainforest to alpine heath, from pink flamingos to the black-and-white colobus monkey.
Request travel proposal →Arusha National Park is skipped by many travellers — a mistake. The park is only 30 kilometres from Arusha city and offers a stunning variety of landscapes: the Ngurdoto Crater (also known as "Little Ngorongoro"), the Momela Lakes with hundreds of flamingos and other water birds, and the slopes of Mount Meru — Tanzania's third highest mountain. Perfect as the start or end of a longer safari trip.

Zones & Areas
Each section of the park has its own character and best season.
Momela Lakes
Seven shallow alkaline lakes each with their own colour — from pale green to deep blue. Hundreds of flamingos, pelicans, ducks and herons. Early in the morning with mist over the water this is one of the most beautiful spots in Tanzania.
Ngurdoto Crater
A mini-Ngorongoro: an enclosed wilderness with no tourists on the floor. You look down from the crater rim at buffalos, warthogs and waterbucks. No vehicles may enter the floor — this is pure pristine wilderness.
Mount Meru slopes
Lush rainforest full of colobus monkeys, forest antelopes and buffalo herds. A walking safari through this forest is one of the most authentic experiences Tanzania has to offer — without a car, with a ranger.
